This door come the house in Aix-en-Provence where Michel Adanson (1727-1806) was born. He was a French naturalist of Scottish descent. Other sources say that his family was from Auvergne and not from Scotland. At the age of 22 he was hired by "Companie des Indes" that sent him to Senegal. When he came back to France in 1753 he was made royal botanist by Louis XV.
